Max Wallace is a Lighting and Projection designer from Austin, TX. He is currently studying theatrical design at Texas State University and is expected to graduate in the spring of 2020.
His work at Texas State University includes work in theatre, dance, and opera. He has worked in thrust, arena, and proscenium settings as a designer and technician at four different venues at Texas State in both design and technical capacities. Recently his projection design for Speech and Debate won the 2019 KCACTF Region VI Stage Institute of Las Vegas Award for Excellence in Technology and Design.
In addition to his work at Texas State, he has worked at such places as Ovation Ballet (Lighting Designer for The Nutcracker Ballet), Maine State Music Theater (Production Intern, Season Pre-show Projection Designer, Projection Designer for Grease, and Alice in Wonderland), Summer Stock Austin (Projection Designer for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Rob1n, Assistant Master Electrician, Programmer), Shrewd Productions at The Vortex Repertory Theater (Co-Projection Designer with Andrew Mcintyre), and Thoughtless Formless Theater Company at The Museum of Human Achievement (Lighting Designer).
Upcoming Projects include: The debut production of The Survivors at Texas State University (Lighting Designer).
He is currently the Head of Video at the Contemporary American Theater Festival for the summer.
